Description

The project was developed by Shinas Generating Company SAOC. Mitsui, Acwa Power and Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding Co.S.A.O.G are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.1%, 44.9% and 5% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil.

Development status

The project got commissioned in May 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Oman Power and Water Procurement under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Power Construction Corporation of China and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.
