Description

The project is developed and owned by Atlas Renewable Energy Chile.

Sol del Desierto Solar PV Plant is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 479 hectares.

The project generates 714,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 345,198 households, offsetting 368,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2020 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in March 2022.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Engie Energia Chile under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years. The contracted capacity is 230MW.

Contractors involved

Prodiel Proyectos de Instalaciones Electricas was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The solar PV modules for the project were supplied by LONGi Solar Technology and Zhejiang Chint New Energy Development.

The inverters were procured from Sungrow Power Supply for the project.
