Description
The project was developed by Solar Capital. Moncada Energy Group, Public Investment and Solar Capital are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 35%, 25% and 25% respectively.
Solar Capital De Aar3 Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 265 hectares.
The project generates 164GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 49,525 households, offsetting 167,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project got commissioned in March 2016.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 75MW.
