Description

The project is being developed by South Fork Wind. The project is co-owned by Eversource Energy and Orsted US Offshore Wind, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 70,000 households, to offset 6,000,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The turbines will be mounted on fixed xxl monopile foundations.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Long Island Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 12 units of SG 11.0-200 DD turbines, each with 11MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project.
