Description

The project is developed and owned by Upper Egypt Electricity Production.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from Egyptian Gas Company.

The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2018.

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement.

Techint E&C was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

The Gas fired project have been supplied by Mitsubishi Power and Toyota Tsusho.
