Springbok I Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 700 acres.
The project generates 265,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 50,000 households, offsetting 300,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project got commissioned in July 2016.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Southern California Public Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 105MW.
Contractors involved
Swinerton Renewable Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
JinkoSolar Holding was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 435,176 modules at the site.
SMA Solar Technology supplied 54 inverters to the project site.
The project is utilising horizontal single axis trackers supplied by Array Technologies.
Swinerton Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
