Description

The project is being developed by Origin Energy and Stockyard Hill Wind Farm. Goldwind Stockyard Hill Wind Farm and Nebras Power Investment Management are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project is expected to generate 2,000,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 425,000 households. The project is expected to offset 2,000,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2018. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Origin Energy under a power purchase agreement at the rate of $0.044kWh. The offtake capacity is expected to be 528.95MW.

Contractors involved

Goldwind Australia is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Goldwind Science & Technology will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 149 units of GW 140/3s turbines, each with 3.55MW nameplate capacity.

Goldwind Australia is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project for a period of 25 years.

The wind power project will consists of Tubular Steel towers to be supplied Keppel PrInce Engineering. These towers will be around 110m high.
