Description
Tenaga Nasional and Malakoff are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from TNB Naural Gas.

The project got commissioned in October 1985.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Tenaga Nasional under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.

Mitsubishi Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Dual-Fuel fired project. The company provided 2 units of Two Cylinder, Tandem Compound, Condensing, Single Reheat steam turbines, each with 300MW nameplate capacity.
