Description

The project was developed by Jordan Wind Power. Abu Dhabi Future Energy and Arab Petroleum Investments are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50% and 20% respectively.

The project generates 350GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 83,000 households, offsetting 235,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in September 2015.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to National Electric Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2015.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 38 units of V112-3.0 MW (IEC IIA/IIIA) turbines, each with 3.075MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
