Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Farab and MAPNA Group. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

The project is expected to generate 346,896,000MWh electricity to offset 153,090t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The wind power project will consists of 40 turbines each with 2.5 MW nameplate capacity.

The Takestan Wind Farm (Takestan Wind Farm Phase III), will have 85m high towers.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in June 2014.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Takestan Wind Farm (Takestan Wind Farm Phase III) will be sold to Iran Renewable Energy Organization under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2017.

The power generated from the Takestan Wind Farm (Takestan Wind Farm Phase IV) will be sold to Iran Renewable Energy Organization under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Sepanta Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the Takestan Wind Farm (Takestan Wind Farm Phase I). The O&M tenure will likely be commencing from the year 2014.
