Description

The project was developed by Kiowa Power Partners. Tenaska Energy, JERA and Tyr Energy are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 65%, 17.5% and 17.5% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Shell Energy North America (US), LP.

Kiowa Power Partners LLC (Kiowa Powe) is principally engaged in development of power generating projects. The company is operating as a subsidiary of Tenaska, Inc. The company owns and operates Kiamichi Generating Facility, a 1200 MW combine cycle facility located in Kiowa, OK. It is a dual grid facility capable of providing power to ERCOT and SPP. The company transmission activities include an 85-mile, 345-kilovolt electric transmission line from Kiowa in Pittsburg County, Okla., to Savoy, Texas. In addition, the company has entered into agreements with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative of Anadarko for the construction and operation of 76-mile Oklahoma portion of the transmission line where the company will own the nine-mile Texas portion of the transmission line.
