The Thar Block VI Power Plant is 1,320MW coal fired power project. It is planned in Sindh, Pakistan. It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be lignite. In case of shortage of lignite the plant will run on Light diesel oil. The fuel will be procured from Thar Coal Block VI.
The thermal power project will consists of 4 turbines each with 330 MW nameplate capacity.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2027. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2028.
