Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by K-Electric, Oracle Power and Power Construction Corporation of China. The company's ownership stake in the project stands as 33.34%, 33.33% and 33.33% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be lignite. In case of shortage of lignite the plant will run on Light diesel oil. The fuel will be procured from Thar Coal Block VI.

The thermal power project will consists of 4 turbines each with 330 MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2027. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2028.

Power purchase agreement

Central Power Purchasing Agency and National Transmission & Despatch are expected to be the power offtakers from the project.
