Description
The project is currently owned by Piasa Cogeneracion.
The project generates 155GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 28,000 households, offsetting 360,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors involved
Zanini Renk was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 turbine with 40MW nameplate capacity. WEG supplied the electric generator for the project.
