Description

The project is co-owned by Kyuden International and Mitsubishi, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2000 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2001.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 495MW.
