Description
The project was developed by Umm al Houl Power. Qatar Electricity & Water Co QPSC, Mitsubishi, JERA, Qatar Foundation and Qatar Petroleum International are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 20%, 10%, 5% and 5% respectively.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Qatar Petroleum.
The project cost is $2,500m.
Development status
The project got commissioned in 2017.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Qatar General Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
