Description

The project is being developed by China Gezhouba Group and PT PLN (Persero). The project is currently owned by PT PLN (Persero) with a stake of 100%.

Upper Cisokan is a pumped storage project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 301.5m and 276m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 6 in number. The penstock length will be 475m. The penstock diameter will be 5.9m.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Contractors involved

Astaris, DL Holdings and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the hydro power project.

Andritz Hydro will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company is expected to provide 4 units of pump turbines, each with 260MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro will supply electric generator(s) for the project.
