Description

The project is being developed by DL Holdings, Kyeryong Construction Industrial and Nepal Water & Energy Development. Korea South-East Power, DL Holdings, International Finance and Kyeryong Construction Industrial are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 52%, 16%, 12% and 10% respectively.

Upper Trishuli-1 is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 340.89m and 333.41m respectively. The penstock length will be 110.7m. The project is expected to generate 1,456.4 GWh of electricity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Nepal Electricity Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 30 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 216MW.

Contractors involved

Doosan Engineering & Construction is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the hydro power project.

Doosan Enerbility will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company is expected to provide 3 units of francis turbines, each with 72MW nameplate capacity.

Doosan Enerbility will supply electric generator(s) for the project.

Korea South-East Power is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the hydro power project.
