The project was developed by Virginia Solar and is currently owned by Virginia Electric and Power with a stake of 100%.

UVA Hollyfield Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 160 acres.

The project generates 17MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 4,250 households, offsetting 18,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $25m.

The project consists of 65,000 modules.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to University of Virginia under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
