Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Guyana Power & Light. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Natural Gas Liquids & Diesel.

The project cost is expected to be around $900m.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in December 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Guyana Power & Light under a power purchase agreement. The offtake capacity is expected to be 250MW.
