Wapello Solar project is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 800 acres.

The project generates 200MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 45,000 households.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Central Iowa Power Cooperative under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 100MW.

Contractors involved

Renewable Energy Systems was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Risen Energy was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 318,000 modules at the site.

Sungrow Power Supply supplied 34 inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by FTC Solar.
