Western Downs Green Power Hub Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 1,500 hectares.

The project is expected to generate 1,080,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 235,000 households. The project is expected to offset 864,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The solar power project consists of 1,117,000 modules.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2020. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to CleanCo Queenland under a power purchase agreement. The offtake capacity is expected to be 352MW.

Sterling and Wilson is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The project will utilise single axis tracker that are likely to be supplied by NEXTracker.
