The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 53 contracts and a 75.7% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and a 12.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: seven contracts and a 10% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 1.4% share.
Asia-Pacific leads power plant activity in December 2020
Comparing contracts activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 32 contracts and a share of 45.7% during December 2020, followed by Europe with 19 contracts and a 27.1% share and Middle East and Africa with eight contracts and an 11.4% share.

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 25 contracts with a 35.7% share, followed by thermal with 19 contracts and a 27.1% share and wind with 14 contracts and a 20% share.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:
- China Energy Engineering Group Planning and Engineering (China): 1,497.8MW from five contracts
- Anhui No.1 Electric Power Construction (China), Anhui No.2 Electric Power Engineering & Construction (China) and East China Electric Power Design Institute (China): 1,320MW from one contract
- Mortenson Construction (United States): 1,118MW capacity from one contract.
