esVolta and Powin Energy have delivered the battery energy storage project.

This project is a part of Powin Energy’s 12.8 MW/52.8 MWh Energy Storage Project. Powin Energy is partnering with Hecate Energy to build, deliver, and install projects with a total capacity of 12.8 MW/52.8 MWh at two sites in Ontario. The projects will be split across two sites in Kitchener and Stratford, Ontario. The system in Stratford will be housed inside of a newly constructed building specifically designed to support twenty Powin Energy 2 MWh battery arrays. The systems will use Powin’s Stack140, a modular 140kW battery array that is scalable from 125kW to multiple megawatts. They will be powered by Powin’s bp-OS battery management software and Battery Odometer and Warranty Tracker.
