The project was developed by EDP Renewables North America. Axium Infrastructure and EDP Renewables North America are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 80% and 20% respectively.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 59,000 households. The project cost is $318m.

The power generated from the project is sold to Great Plains Energy under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2019. The contracted capacity is 199.28MW.

Contractors Involved

Prairie Queen Wind Farm (Prairie Queen Wind Farm-I) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy G132-3.55 turbines. The phase consists of 48 turbines with 3.55MW nameplate capacity.

Prairie Queen Wind Farm (Prairie Queen Wind Farm-II) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy G126-2.625 MW turbines. The phase consists of 11 turbines with 2.625MW nameplate capacity.
