Renewable energy auctions in H1 2020: Asia-Pacific leads global activity

On comparing renewable energy auctions in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 34 auctions and a share of 73.9% during H1 2020, followed by Europe with eight auctions and a 17.4% share and South and Central America with four auctions and an 8.7% share.

Solar is top technology area for renewable energy auctions in H1 2020

Looking at renewable energy auctions divided by the type of technology, Solar accounted for the largest proportion with 35 auctions and a 70% share, followed by Wind with 12 auctions and a 24% share and Hydro with two auctions and a 4% share.
