Description

The project was developed by Akuo Energy USA and Rocksprings Val Verde Wind. The project is currently owned by Abu Dhabi Future Energy with a stake of 95.3% and Rocksprings Val Verde Wind.

The project generates 57,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 69,750 households, offsetting 285,624t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in September 2017.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Walmart under a power purchase agreement for a period of 12 years. The contracted capacity is 50MW.

M. A. Mortenson was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.

Rocksprings Wind Farm (Rocksprings Phase I Wind Farm) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy 116-2.3 MW turbines. The phase consists of 53 turbines with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Rocksprings Wind Farm (Rocksprings Phase II Wind Farm) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy 1.7-103 MW turbines. The phase consists of 16 turbines with 1.72MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy was contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
