Rucalhue is a 90MW hydro power project. It is planned on Biobio river/basin in Bio Bio, Chile. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2024 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

The project is being developed by Rucalhue Energia and is currently owned by China International Water & Electric.
Rucalhue is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 1.22 million cubic meter. The project is expected to generate 465 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $240m.
The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 30MW nameplate capacity.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
Sinohydro Bureau 14 is expected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
