The hydro reservoir capacity is 96.2 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 356m and 326m respectively. The penstock length is 497m. The penstock diameter is 3.6m. Ruieni underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2010. The project generated 264 GWh of electricity.
The project got commissioned in 1993.
UCM Resita was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 78MW nameplate capacity.
Hydro Engineering supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 85 MVA.
