Saeki power plant is a 50MW biopower project. It is located in Oita, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in November 2016.

Description

Erex and TonenGeneral Sekiyu are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 70% and 10% respectively.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 100,000 households. The project cost is $164m.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this co-firing project to release the stored energy from the feed. Palm kernel shells which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in November 2016.
