Sharmai is a 150MW hydro power project. It is planned on Panjkora river/basin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2023.

Description
The project is being developed by Sapphire Electric and Sinohydro. The project is currently owned by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization.
Sharmai is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 32.2 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 220m and 196.6m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 1 in number. The penstock length will be 849m. The project is expected to generate 682 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $400.7m.
The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 75MW nameplate capacity.
