Description

The project is currently owned by Duke Energy Progress with a stake of 100%.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Piedmont Natural Gas Pipeline.

The project generated 8,821,723MWh of electricity.

Sherwood H Smith Jr Energy Complex (Sherwood H Smith Jr Energy Complex Block I) is equipped with Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 195.4MW nameplate capacity.
