The electro-chemical battery energy storage project uses lithium-ion as its storage technology. The project was commissioned in 2015.


The Shin-Yongin Substation ESS Pilot Project-BESS is owned by Korea Electric Power (100%).

The key applications of the project are frequency regulation, transmission congestion relief and voltage support.
