Description

The Shiriuchi Solar PV Park – Battery Energy Storage System is being developed by ORIX and Solar Frontier.

The key applications of the project are frequency regulation, voltage control and reactive power support.

ORIX and Solar Frontier are the developers. Toshiba is the technology provider for the project.

For charge/discharge control in conjunction with the output of the solar power plant, Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp’s (TMEIC) “TMBCS (TMEIC Battery Control System)” was employed. TMEIC structured the entire system by using Toshiba Corp’s “SCiB” lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery and TMEIC’s bidirectional PV inverter.
