Shiziping, China

Shiziping is a 195MW hydro power project. It is located on Zagunao river/basin in Sichuan, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2004 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2010.

The project was developed by Sichuan Huadian Zagunao Hydropower Development Limited Liability Company. The project is currently owned by China Huadian with a stake of 64%, Aba Prefecture Of State-owned Assets Management, Anrong Construction and Chengdu Hydroelectric Investigation / Design Institute, SGC.

Shiziping is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 133 million cubic meter. The project generated 828 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $204.64m.

The project has 3 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 74.29 MVA.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2004 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2010.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

DEC Dongfang Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 65MW nameplate capacity.
