Similajau – Mapai Line is a 500kV overhead line from Similajau, Sarawak, Malaysia, to Mapai, Malaysia.

Construction works on the Similajau – Mapai Line project was commissioned in 2016.


The Similajau – Mapai Line, which is an overhead line, is being operated by Sarawak Energy. The Similajau – Mapai Line is a new line. The line carries alternating current (AC) through double circuit cable.

The development of the Similajau – Mapai Line project was approved by The Energy Commission and the project works were completed in 2016.

Contractors involved

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems Asia Sdn and Xian Electric Engineering was appointed by Sarawak Energy to supply the cables for executing the 500kV Similajau – Mapai Line.
