Description

The project is being developed by Hitachi Zosen Inova, SSE and Wheelabrator Technologies. The project is currently owned by Wheelabrator Technologies with a stake of 50%.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 100,000 households.

The process of landfill will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
