South and Central America power industry tenders in Q1 2021: Bolivia leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Bolivia led the activity in Q1 2021 with 33 tenders and a share of 39.8%, up 18.9% over the previous quarter and up 74% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by Guyana with 18 tenders and a share of 21.7% and Uruguay with nine tenders and a share of 10.8% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Bolivia held the top spot with 19 tenders, followed by Uruguay with nine and Trinidad and Tobago with seven tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q1 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 15 tenders and a 51.7% share, followed by hydro with 11 tenders and a 37.9% share and nuclear with one tender and a 3.4% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in South and Central America power tenders activity during Q1 2021, with 31 tenders, followed by T&D Equipment (27) and Power Plant (27).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
