South and Central America power industry tenders in Q4 2019: Trinidad and Tobago leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Trinidad and Tobago led the activity in Q4 2019 with six tenders and a share of 30%, up 22.3% over the previous quarter and up 20% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by Paraguay with four tenders and a share of 20% and Brazil with two tenders and a share of 10% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Brazil held the top spot with five tenders, followed by Argentina with five and Trinidad and Tobago with five tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q4 2019
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with six tenders and a 75% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 12.5% share and biopower with one tender and a 12.5% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in South and Central America power tenders activity during Q4 2019, with six tenders, followed by T&D Equipment (6) and T&D Project (6).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: eight tenders and a 40% share
- Supply & Erection: six tenders and a 30% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 15% share
