The project was developed by APR Energy and is currently owned by SA Power Networks.
It is a Gas Turbine power plant that is used for Peakload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is gas. In case of shortage of gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil.
The project cost is $360m.
