South Fork Wind Project is a 132MW offshore wind power project. It is planned in Atlantic Ocean, New York, the US. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Description

The project is being developed by Deepwater Wind South Fork. The project is co-owned by Eversource Energy and Orsted US Offshore Wind, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 70,000 households, to offset 300,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $637.296m. The turbines will be mounted on fixed monopile foundations.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Long Island Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors Involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 12 units of SG 11.0-200 DD turbines, each with 11MW nameplate capacity.
