The project is currently owned by Aspen Generating with a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Dominion.
The project generated 3,977,201MWh of electricity.
The Gas fired project consists of 1 steam turbine with 188MW nameplate capacity.
The project got commissioned in July 2003.
Siemens was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 2 units of SGT6-5000F gas turbines, each with 184MW nameplate capacity.
Siemens Heat Transfer Technology supplied steam boiler for the project.
IHI Power Services is the O&M contractor for thermal power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2017, for a period of 5 years.
