The State Grid Henan-Xinyang Substation Demonstration Project – BESS was developed by Henan Pinggao Electric, State Grid Corporation of China and State Grid Henan Electric Power. The project is owned by State Grid Henan Electric Power (100%), a subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China.

The key applications of the project are demand response and grid support services.

The project is a part of 100 MW battery energy storage demonstration project of Henan power grid. This demonstration project uses a lithium-ion energy storage system which was developed independently by Narada. There are 8 container-type battery energy storage units with a rated power of 1.2 MW/1.2 MWh. The system has the characteristics of modularization, standardization, quickness, low cost, high safety, etc.
