Description

The project was developed by BQ Energy and First Wind Holdings. The project is currently owned by TerraForm Power.

The project generates 95,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 13,000 households, offsetting 61,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $34m.

Steel Winds Wind Farm (Steel Winds Wind Farm Phase I) is equipped with Clipper Windpower turbines. The phase consists of 8 turbines, each with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.

Steel Winds Wind Farm (Steel Winds Wind Farm Phase II) is equipped with Clipper Windpower turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines, each with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.

Clipper Windpower is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 5 years.
