Description
The project was developed by Ofunato Power. Taiheiyo Cement and Erex are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 65% and 35% respectively.
The project generates 520,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 110,000 households, offsetting 285,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $224m.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this co-firing project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
The project consists of 1 steam turbine.
