T&D equipment contracts up 19% in September 2020

T&D equipment contracts in September 2020 saw 50 contracts announced, marking a rise of 19% over the last 12-month average of 42, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 39 contracts and a 78% share
  2. Project Implementation: ten contracts and a 20% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 2% share.

Europe leads T&D equipment activity in September 2020

Comparing contracts activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 27 contracts and a share of 54% during September 2020, followed by North America with eight contracts and a 16% share and Asia-Pacific with eight contracts and a 16% share.

Wind is leading technology for T&D equipment contracts in September 2020

Among the technologies, wind accounted for seven contracts with a 58.3% share, followed by thermal with four contracts and a 33.3% share and solar with one contract and an 8.3% share.
