T&D equipment tenders down 11% in Q4 2021

T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2021 saw 792 tenders announced, marking a drop of 11% over the last four-quarter average of 890, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 744 tenders and a 93.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 40 tenders and a 5.1% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 0.5% share
  4. Project Implementation: four tenders and a 0.5% share.

North America leads T&D equipment activity in Q4 2021

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 280 tenders and a share of 35.4% during Q4 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with 239 tenders and a 30.2% share and Asia-Pacific with 184 tenders and a 23.2% share.

Hydro is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2021

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for 13 tenders with a 76.5% share, followed by thermal with four tenders and a 23.5% share.

T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuer of T&D equipment tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved was:Greenko MP01 IREP Private with 1,440MW from one tender.
