T&D equipment tenders down 71% in Q1 2022

T&D equipment tenders in Q1 2022 saw 254 tenders announced, marking a drop of 71% over the last four-quarter average of 878, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 250 tenders and a 98.4% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four tenders and a 1.6% share.

North America leads T&D equipment activity in Q1 2022

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 83 tenders and a share of 32.7% during Q1 2022, followed by Asia-Pacific with 79 tenders and a 31.1% share and Middle East and Africa with 56 tenders and a 22% share.

Hydro is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in Q1 2022

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for six tenders with a 75% share, followed by nuclear with one tender and a 12.5% share and thermal with one tender and a 12.5% share.
