T&D equipment tenders up 6% in Q3 2021

T&D equipment tenders in Q3 2021 saw 941 tenders announced, marking a rise of 6% over the last four-quarter average of 891, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 892 tenders and a 94.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 39 tenders and a 4.1% share
  3. Project Implementation: seven tenders and a 0.7% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 0.3% share.

Middle East and Africa leads T&D equipment activity in Q3 2021

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Middle East and Africa held the top position with 323 tenders and a share of 34.3% during Q3 2021, followed by North America with 295 tenders and a 31.3% share and Asia-Pacific with 217 tenders and a 23.1% share.

Hydro is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in Q3 2021

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for 13 tenders with a 43.3% share, followed by thermal with 12 tenders and a 40% share and solar with four tenders and a 13.3% share.
