T&D project contracts down 3% in November 2021

T&D project contracts in November 2021 saw 36 contracts announced, marking a drop of 3% over the last 12-month average of 37, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 25 contracts and a 69.4% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six contracts and a 16.7% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 13.9% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in November 2021

Comparing contracts activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 14 contracts and a share of 38.9% during November 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with nine contracts and a 25% share and Europe with eight contracts and a 22.2% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project contracts in November 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for seven contracts with a 53.8% share, followed by wind with six contracts and a 46.2% share.

T&D project contracts in November 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of T&D project contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Kuopion Energia (Finland), Kymppivoima (Finland) and Oulun Energia Siirto ja Jakelu (Finland): 455MW from one contract
  2. Yugan County Guoneng New Energy (China) and Huadian Yunnan Power Generation (China): 100MW from one contract.

T&D project contracts in November 2021: Top winners by capacity

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. OX2 Finland (Finland): 455MW from one contract
  2. China Energy Engineering Group Planning and Engineering (China) and Sinohydro Bureau one (China): 100MW from one contract
  3. Shandong Yijian Construction (China): 50MW capacity from one contract.
