T&D project tenders down 44% in May 2021

T&D project tenders in May 2021 saw 93 tenders announced, marking a drop of 44% over the last 12-month average of 166, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 67 tenders and a 72% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 13 tenders and a 14% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: 13 tenders and a 14% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in May 2021

Comparing tenders activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 33 tenders and a share of 35.5% during May 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with 25 tenders and a 26.9% share and Europe with 20 tenders and a 21.5% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project tenders in May 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for two tenders with a 66.7% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 33.3% share.
